Fox and Jane Salon — hair salon on the Lower East Side
Fox and Jane began on the Lower East Side in 2011, when stylist Lorean Cairns — a former color educator who trained at names like Rita Hazan and Birds & Fellas — opened her first salon. It grew into a small family of New York salons, and the Ludlow Street location keeps the same locally owned, hair-first spirit.
Services
A full hair menu built on precision cutting and color, from everyday cuts to dimensional color, highlights and balayage, finished with blowouts and styling. Every visit starts with a real consultation, the founder’s color-education background showing in the color work.
Technology & brands
Color is the house strength — Lorean built her name as a color educator before opening the salon — and the team leans on careful consultation and modern color and balayage technique. Tools and stations are kept clean between guests.
Team & masters
Founder Lorean Cairns built Fox and Jane after polishing her craft at elite New York salons and years as a color educator. The Ludlow Street chairs are staffed by a team of stylists working to that same standard, matched to clients through consultation.
The Space
Inspired by London’s pub scene, Fox and Jane pours a gratis signature punch for guests while they’re in the chair — an easygoing, neighborhood salon feel rather than a formal downtown showroom, right in the middle of the Lower East Side.
Who it’s for
For Lower East Side locals who want a great cut or color, clients after dimensional color or balayage from a color-led team, and anyone who likes a relaxed, welcoming salon with a drink in hand.
